HOPE Ministries Inc., is a Christ centered non-profit 501(3)c corporation whose vision is to impact the community in a positive way through various initiatives, each designed to Help Other People Excel in Christ. Our initiatives are:
The House of Hope - Surry and Jonah and Exodus Ministries are the only initiatives operating at this time. We need you to make them a reality. Contact Sheila M. Pettaway (757) 866-8434.
Youth Jobs Program This Ministry provides computer training and employment training skills (e.g., completing applications, conducting job interviews and proper communications skills, etc.). Provide transportation for youth to jobs where needed. This program is available to qualifying families. Summer Camp This activity provides summer activities for youth. We provide day long activities including educational trips, swimming, basketball, soccer, camping trips, etc. Travel Services Provide travel services for Senior Citizens and the physically challenged. With the growing population of senior citizens and the existing physically challenged, we provide vehicles to take them shopping, to the doctor or nursing home. There are many citizens who do not receive assistance from other agencies, but still can not drive or prefer not to drive. House of Hope Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit home for single parent families fulfilling the call of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-36. Employment Training This ministry provides employment skills for adults to meet the demands of the current job market. Day Break Substance Abuse Ministry Provide counseling and a support group to minister to individuals whose goal is to live a substance free life. Our goal is to allow Jesus to become the guiding influence in individuals lives and lead them to deliverance. Sentencing Alternative Program This activity provides youth with and alternative to time in jail. While individual are spending time in our program they are required to attend counseling, church, church classes and church activities. They are also required to attend the employment training program offered to other youth. Jonah and Exodus Ministry Minister to individuals that are in detention centers and jail. The After Prison Ministry is available for youth and adults. The purpose is to help individuals adjust when they return to society. After School Child Care A place with a controlled environment for study and recreation. We have tutors available to assist students with different subjects. Scholarship Program This activity provides money for qualifying students entering college. Computer Skills Training This activity provides training in the latest computer technology to qualifying citizens. Including computer repair, web page design, etc. |
